This makes Lumison the first managed service provider to bring together the business benefits of a suite of Microsoft applications, a cloud deployment across our nationwide datacentres, and integrated VoIP with BT's 21CN (21st Century Networks) platform.

Office Communication Server 2007 (OCS) brings together a range of communication methods into one easily manageable infrastructure allowing users to benefit from instant messaging, audio and video calls, web conferencing and application sharing - all at the click of a mouse.

With integration into Lumison's MPLS network and a QoS-aware (Quality of Service) IP backbone, Lumison are also well placed for the built in integration to the global telephony network through BT's next generation 21CN platform. This offers not only cost savings to the customer through a pure-IP model, but also means that the customer no longer needs to have an expensive telephone system sitting alongside the OCS deployment to deliver the services the new demanding generation of business users expect.

Also, one key benefit of the Lumison solution is that it is one of the few hosted services that provide for Active Directory integration into existing customer networks. With a single login, users only need one username and password to access ALL their business applications, making it simple for IT managers to administer and support, and working alongside existing investments rather than requiring expensive replacement. Hosted on a Hyper-V platform, Lumison not only offers the security of a Private Virtual Cloud solution but a new 80:20 rule for the new lean agenda - 80% saving in carbon and 20% savings in cash.
