We were delighted to hear some recent feedback from customer Factotum
who claims our EFM (Ethernet Final Mile) offering has enabled them to
operate even more effectively, running applications and communications
over a faster, more cost-effective connection.
Charlie Boisseau at Factotum told us: "We were one of Lumison's first customers on the SDSL service and now I believe we're one of the first on the EFM service. Each upgrade in speed and connectivity has seen our business improve but the step from SDSL to EFM has seen considerable change. For the same price we are now getting twice the speed if not more. It is also an even more reliable service and has an exceptionally low-latency, so mission-critical applications such as VoIP and database access have greatly benefitted, not just high bandwidth uses such as large downloads."
Charlie said the move has also enabled Factotum to co-locate its servers with confidence in a Lumison datacentre.
"The speed and reliability we now get at affordable cost means we have been able to move our servers out of our offices and into Lumison's datacentre. As a result we benefit from greater energy saving and business continuity. We couldn't run back-up generators on-premise at our offices but in the datacentre we benefit from Lumison's own business continuity planning which when we're running public facing websites is a major benefit."
