Country dancing fans take note: Lumison customer Whitespace has launched the world's first virtual ceilidh on behalf of www.Scotland.org.
After kitting themselves out in a kilt and sporran, taking their online partner by the hand and dancing a Scottish ceilidh reel, revellers can invite their friends and family to join in wherever they may be in the world, ensuring old acquaintance should never be forgotten.
The virtual festivities are hosted on a dedicated server managed by Lumison and the viral campaign, being promoted via Twitter and Facebook, is jam packed with applications which allow fans worldwide to give themselves a Scottish makeover. It was launched in time for St Andrew's Day and is currently being updated for Hogmanay - keep an eye on www.scotland.org/ceilidh for festive accessories and styling.
The official gateway site to Scotland, www.scotland.org, includes a wealth of information to help people worldwide find out more about celebrating in Scottish style alongside information on visiting or working in Scotland.
