Lumison sponsored the recent ScotSoft Awards 09, a prestigious dinner where Scotland's leading ICT companies gather to discuss the future of IT business in the country.

Aydin Kurt-Elli, Lumison's CEO, donated £750 as a prize for third place in the Scottish Young Software Engineer of the Year (YSE) award, given to the most promising project from computer science and software engineering students across Scotland.

There were a wide variety of projects nominated, including a sailing instruction program, a unique visualisation tool for pilots to use in poor visibility, and a system that plans and allocates medical rescue services on ski resorts.

The top prize eventually went to a young student of Edinburgh University's A.I. department, who developed software that used motion-capture to help robotic design.
